Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Phillipians 2:3
I think that one of the most difficult thing for me and for many other people is to be humble. That is because many times we do and say things that without noticing are not very humble. I think in this verse we can find some tips on how we can become humble like Christ. First of all, check the motives for which you are doing or saying the things you are doing and saying. If you real motive of the things you do is through strife, which is basically angrily disagreeing with someone or to prove that you are right and everyone is wrong, then you are not being humble. If whatever you do is for your own glory, which is doing things so that people can recognize you and think that you are the best, then you are not being humble. Whenever we do something we need to always acknowledge that all the glory is God’s and sometimes this can be hard. We always need to have a humble mind. We can’t think highly of ourselves, but think highly of the one that lives in us. Knowing that we can do nothing without God, therefore everything we do we do it through God. And another way to work on the humbleness is by esteeming other people better than yourself. Always knowing that there is someone who can preach better than you, that can sing and play an instrument better than you, that is more spiritual, does more good work, prays more, fasts more, reads the Bible more, etc… Humbleness is the one of the main keys to have a good relationship with God and with our neighbors. And always pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ that He will put Christ humbleness and meekness in us. God bless you all.
