On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Romans 12:20-21
I’ll say that this is one of the most challenging verses for a christian to follow. And many times we see that christians don’t really follow it. If all of us who claim to be christian applied this to our lives more people will be saved through our testimony. I have had some experiences with some of my christian friends that relate to this verse. Some times we would go to a fast food restaurant and the employee would be rude to me in some way. And then one of my friends would insult her back, even worst than the way that she insulted me. Being this the case, we can assume that the consequence of this action will be even more insults from the employee and maybe some unknown saliva in our hamburgers. On the other side, if we follow what the Bible says, and what this verse teaches; then instead of insulting them back we be courteous and nice to them the Bible says that they will feel ashamed of their conduct. I mean, imaging that you are insulting someone really bad, and he goes and gets you something to eat and tells you God bless you, wouldn’t you feel dumb for insulting him? And don’t you think that that person would make a difference in your life in the sense of that you will think twice before doing that again?
These verses and revolutionary verses. This is a teaching that can revolutionize a whole community, because it is something that sticks. It is something that once you do it to another person, that another person would feel like doing the same thing you did and becomes like a chain. We are called to be light and salt of this world. We are here to make the difference, so apply this teaching to your life and make a difference in your community little by little. And rebuke those other christian who are not following this teaching so that they can start following it too. God bless you all.
